When the nose outpaces the palate

I had a glass last night that smelled beautiful—white peach, acacia, maybe a little citrus oil—but the palate felt surprisingly brief. It was not faulty; it just felt quieter than the nose had promised. Is that usually a question of concentration or length? Curious how others think about it.

Just finished an old episode of Wine Thyme Live and now I want to drink more New York sparkling wine.

The episode is called “Move Over Champagne, NY is Here.” I am embarrassed to say I still mentally file New York wine as “something I should get around to.” This was a good reminder that I am probably missing a lot.

If you have a New York producer or bottle I should look for, please send me in the right direction.
